The Upper Adventure Play area. Two adventure areas for children meant to inspire mental and physical abilities, and encourage outdoor activities that develop healthy families and communities.

Sculptural mounds that pay tribute to a former Native American settlement of Eskippakithiki. Meandering trails designed for athletic and casual use, including a 1.1 mile loop that circles the space, while paths along the sculptural mounding and natural areas allow for variety in distance, challenge level and scenery.

The Overall Concept Plan for the re-Visioning of the Clark Regional Hospital site. The project reflects the vision and desires of a large group of residents. The landscape architects can take credit for the form and organization of the plan. But the functional elements of the plan belong to the community. This isn’t a project that is the vision or desire of one person or small group of people. It is a project that reflects the vision and desires of a large group of Winchester residents.

Play Area The play area is in a protected area of the neighborhood. Great ledge wall seating is adjacent the play area for kids to sit on or for parents to watch. The play area has a pirate ship theme, plantings, and a poured in place rubber surface. The main pedestrian court in the Shanghai high rise development featured fountains, special lighting, fountains, granite paving, and lush vegetation. We connected the modern high school with covered exterior walks. We threaded the walks through the forest canopy preserving the trees and providing ADA access to the 5 building upper campus.

The gravel trench in the picture foreground is aground water recharge system. The swale takes the surface water to bedrock. This is not a high maintenance rain garden but solves the same issue in a low maintenance way the staff can care for.

The Irish Hill Urban Infill project strengthened the street front with live / work buildings. High rise condos have great views of downtown. Creek access and greenspaces finish out the concept. Louisville, Kentucky
